Have you ever pictured an ideal situation in your mind’s eye? Everything is so perfect and smooth. You just know that everything will turn out well. Whatever it might be. It could be a painting you may want to start. A new job you just got and think it will be oh so much better. So, after reality sets in, your overall expectations weren’t exactly your reality. Uh oh, what now?

In our head, it’s all wonderful. However, noticing the difference between our expectations and reality can be a disappointment. But it really shouldn’t be that way. One is missing the beauty of the opportunity to grow when you think everything should automatically be in order.

Even if it isn’t picture perfect, this will push you to go with the flow. Life is unexpected. It is counterintuitive if we expect how the outcome will play out.

Even if it doesn’t go your way, don’t give up. Learn something in the process. The job isn’t working out. Don’t worry, try to adjust to it. See if you can at first find the positives. See how you can learn from it. Remember, it’s always the toughest of times that enable you to grow the most. Nothing is set in stone; if it doesn’t work, go on to the next project. Life is a school, and we are always in class.
