Frustration

Gas prices are up. Food costs are high. Our wages remain the same. No wonder why everyone is feeling stressed. We are living in a time where we have to rethink recipes. Find alternate ways to commute to save some money. These are challenging economic times for people as they struggle to feed their families.

I keep hearing about inflation on the news. I see it when I look at the gas station prices. I have also noticed that a lot of people are anxious. They are overly stressed and with good reason, of course. We have every right to feel frustrated. It is a lot of brainwork to make ends meet in these conditions.

How does one cope with all of it? Yes, there are the traditional ways of meditating, talking to someone and feeling better. However, I would like to suggest target thinking. This is a technique that I made up when I need to find a resolution. For example, you worry about having enough to pay for groceries. I am right with you on that one because I have a family.

I give myself one item and see how I can make it work for at least 2 to 3 meals. You might have to get creative on this, but it works. Okay, my idea is those barbecue chickens that are already cooked. We ate some for dinner. When done, I made a chicken salad for the next day. I also made a portion to make hot chicken sandwiches.

Do you see where I am going with this? It is not the fix-all recipe, but it helps you to think of alternative ways. We have so much at our fingertips. Instead of beating yourself up, try to find solutions. Even if you have to ask for help, don’t let pride get in the way. We all deserve to be helped. Some people use their creativity and design businesses out of need. Many are faced with tough situations every day. It’s okay to be frustrated, but remember you are in control. Let those creative juices pour out. It will be easier to ride the wave. - Confidante Maria
